My name is Louise Birch Sørensen.
I was born in Skagen Hospital in 1979.
In 2008 I graduated from The Glass and Ceramic School on Bornholm.
Lately figurative ceramics have been making up the framework of my stories.
Stylistically, my works refer to an illustrative, almost iconographic, children's book or fairytale universe.
Clay is my preferred material because of its ability to mime almost anything, and at the same time certain expressions can be achieved only through ceramic surfaces.
A glaze may inspire me to parts of a narrative, and in this way my stories take shape in a constant dialogue with the material
- a dialogue where sensuousness and intuition contribute on equal terms as the intellect.
Currently I live and work in Copenhagen.
